Ice takes up so much room, any ideas to reduce the space?

To save space in the cooler, when I make my kool-aid or crystal light, instead of using jugs, I put it into zip lock bags and freeze them flat. Then it fits nicely into the cooler and it helps with keeping cool everything else in the cooler.
