Camping lights are some of the coolest outdoor camping accessories to hit the market. You simply bend or break the light-stick to activate it, and it glows with a green light that can even be seen underwater. It works in any temperature, but cold temperatures may alter the light's color.
These are a great alternative to candles and lanterns in enclosed spaces, because they are inflammable, non-toxic, and don't give off heat. They are inexpensive too, so you can keep them on had for other uses besides camping lights, such as in the car in case of emergency. Besides, the kids will love playing Darth Vader with them after dark!
Another disposable item to waste away. Instead how about the lightweight wind-up flashlight, dependable "fun" for the kids, and it is not yet another item to top off the land fill.
We appreciate the advice - it's important to be aware of wastefulness, especially for those of us who enjoy keeping Mother Nature around us.
I used to hate using lanterns. I have an irrational fear of them and propane grills- something about blowing me to smithereens.
I wanted to cry out in jubilation when I noticed that Wal-Mart has these LED lights that from a ring and put off LOTS of light! LED's last a LONG time and for just over $6 you bet I will be adding a few more to my camp box.
The one we had was enough light to comfortably light a 5 ft area.
