Motorhome Classes

There are three classes of motorhomes, and they can be confusing if you aren't familiar with them.
  • Class A motorhomes are the largest motorhomes, and often resemble busses. The driver's cockpit is located at the front of the motorhome, and the entire coach is one large, rectangular unit. These are usually the most luxurious and spacious motorhomes.
  • Class B motorhomes are van conversions that resemble a regular van. They have raised roofs and are often longer than conventional vans. They come with quite a few amenities in a small package.
  • Class C motorhomes are smaller than Class As, and are actually large campers built on a truck chassis. The front of the motorhome resembles a truck or van cab.
  • Travel trailers, toy haulers, and 5th wheels are all considered RVs, and can be towed behind a vehicle.
When you shop for a motorhome, know what class you're looking for, because all motorhomes are rated (and usually priced) by class.
