September 12, 2008, Newsletter Issue #145: The Towable Pop Up Camper

Tip of the Week

One of the most affordable ways to start camping without a tent is with a pop up camper. These small, towable tent campers are lightweight, pop up quickly and easily when you reach the campground, fold up for travel, and can be towed behind just about any vehicle.

A typical pop up camper contains sleeping space, seating, small kitchens, and some even include small bathrooms. Some models are big enough to sleep up to eight people, while others are meant for couples or small families.

One thing you should remember with a pop up camper. Have a heavy-duty towing hitch installed to tow your pop up camper. Be sure to have the hitch attached to the frame of your vehicle, rather than the bumper. It's safer and will keep the trailer more secure during towing.
